Course Information

The Certified Control Owner (CCO) program equips appointed control owners, supervisors, and operational leaders with the knowledge and practical skills to implement, monitor, and verify workplace controls in line with organisational and legislative requirements. Control Owners play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of risk controls, ensuring they remain effective, reliable, and auditable throughout their operational lifecycle. This course provides a structured approach to control ownership, performance standards, and assurance, aligned with ISO 31000: Risk Management – Guidelines and the ICMM Critical Control Management Framework. Through seven interactive modules and challenge quizzes, participants will learn how to: - Identify and classify controls within the hierarchy of control. - Distinguish between controls, supporting activities, and verification activities. - Develop and apply Critical Control Performance Standards (CCPS). - Conduct verifications and record evidence of control effectiveness. - Escalate, investigate, and respond when controls fail or become ineffective. - Strengthen governance and reporting to support assurance and continual improvement. By completing this program, participants will gain the capability to demonstrate accountability, strengthen organisational resilience, and provide assurance that critical controls are performing as intended. Graduates earn the Certified Control Owner (CCO) credential, issued by SRA Global Pty Ltd, recognising professional competence in the management and verification of critical controls.
