This skill set provides a set of skills to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in a workplace environment, including the skills to provide an emergency first aid response in the event of an emergency. We have also included provide pain management to allow for those who may be required to provide pain relief to a injured worker.

The course covers the following units of competency: 

• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

• HLTAID014 Provide advanced first aid

• HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy

• HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources

Plus 

• PUAEME008 Provide pain management

Enrolment Requirements

Enrolment into the course requires a learner to:

• Be 18 years of age (Proof of Age or Drivers Licence Required)

• Be physically able to perform CPR on the floor for 2 minutes uninterrupted

• Basic language, literacy and numeracy skills to read and interpret workplace procedures and communicate to emergency services

• Hold HLTAID011 as current
