Mining Supervisor G1, G8, G9

The Mining Supervisor G1, G8, G9 2-day course covers the skills and knowledge required by Mine Supervisors, Site Safety Supervisors or Mine Safety and Health Representatives (MSHR). This course covers the following units of competency from the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.

This course was formerly known as S1, S2, S3 Supervisor Course.

​Who Should Attend?

This course is tailored to Mine Supervisors, Site Safety Supervisors or Mine Safety and Health Representatives (MSHR) within the mining and construction industries and others that have a statutory responsibility to complete this training.

Course Outline

The G1, G8, G9 course is delivered face-to-face by an experienced industry and risk management professional and includes:​

  • Supervising the safety of workers within the mine site

  • Knowledge, skills and application of WHS legislation, policies and procedures

  • Conducting audits, inspections and critical control verifications

  • Monitoring compliance of risk assessments, incident investigations and operational procedures

  • Conducting incident investigations

  • Develop and implement safety plans, principal hazard plans and emergency plans

  • Develop and review induction programs

Entry Requirements 

It is recommended that participants have strong language, literacy and numeracy skills to be able to read, interpret and write. This course and all materials are delivered in English. Prior to the start of face-to-face training there may be a short knowledge quiz to check language, literacy and numeracy, as required.

 

Assessment Methods 

Progressive assessment throughout the course, including demonstration of practical skills and written and oral questions relating to underpinning knowledge. 

 

Award Issued 

Upon successful completion of the training, you will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment. This statement is issued by KGE Mines Rescue Pty Ltd (RTO 91351)
