HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

Course Overview

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

The course covers the following units of competency: 

• HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

Enrolment Requirements

Enrolment into the course requires a learner to:

• Be 18 years of age (Proof of Age or Drivers Licence Required)

• Be physically able to perform CPR on the floor for 2 minutes uninterrupted

• Basic language, literacy and numeracy skills to read and interpret workplace procedures and communicate to emergency services.

The course is structured to be delivered in the following ways:

• 1 Day Face-to-Face Workshop

Statement of Attainment

On successful completion of the course learners will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competence:

• HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
