8:00am – 1:00pm (5-hour session)

Core WHS Knowledge:

• Rights and responsibilities under NSW WHS laws

• Reasonably practicable duties and the role of the worker

• How to follow instructions, procedures and safety signs

• Consultation, reporting and issue resolution pathways

Hazard Identification & Risk Management:

• Recognising common construction, industrial and community hazards

• Assessing risk using simple and practical methods

• Understanding critical risks and life-saving controls

• Hands-on practice using SWMS and risk assessments

Psychosocial Hazards & Safety Culture:

• Fatigue, stress, conflict and work design

• Early intervention and reporting

• Building safe work behaviours and situational awareness

Safe Work Practices:

• PPE selection, fit and maintenance (practical)

• Traffic and mobile plant awareness

• Slips, trips and falls

• Manual tasks

• Noise and vibration

• Electrical safety basics

• Confined space awareness

• Hazardous chemicals (GHS, SDS, labelling)

• Emergency response and incident notification

Course Agenda – 8:00am to 1:00pm

8:00am – 8:15am Welcome, sign-in, introductions and expectations

8:15am – 9:00am WHS legal overview: rights, duties, roles and responsibilities

9:00am – 10:00am Practical hazard identification, SWMS and risk assessment

10:00am – 10:15am Morning tea

10:15am – 11:00am Psychosocial hazards and safe behaviour foundations

11:00am – 11:45am PPE demonstrations and hands-on activities

11:45am – 12:30pm High-risk hazard awareness: heights, mobile plant, electrical, chemicals, confined space, noise, emergency response

12:30pm – 1:00pm Lunch, assessment and certificates issued

Add-On Training (Optional)

We offer these as same-day upskills to strengthen worker competency.

Silica Awareness (1:30pm – 2:30pm) – $65

• Covers exposure risks, controls, PPE, ventilation, housekeeping and compliance requirements under NSW WHS Regulations.

Asbestos Awareness (3:00pm – 4:00pm) – $65

• Covers identifying ACMs, health risks, lawful handling, emergency procedures and reporting.

Workers can attend the induction only or stay for one or both add-ons.
